Unlock untapped revenue: Introducing the new Logged-Out Couponator feature

For Wildfire’s white-label shopping extension partners, the "unauthenticated user" represents a significant missed opportunity. Our data shows that approximately 1 in 10 users who install a client’s extension do not log in.

Historically, these users couldn’t access coupon savings through the extension until after logging in, so they received no value from the installation. In turn, our clients missed out on potential revenue.

Wildfire is proud to announce that Couponator is now accessible to all users, even those who are not logged in or authenticated.

This new feature is designed to bridge this feature gap between logged-in and logged-out users by reducing friction and recovering lost shopping trips.

Removing the barrier to savings

Previously, users were forced to log in to access any coupons. This login barrier at high-intent checkout moments often led to cart abandonment, savings left on the table for users, and missed revenue opportunities for our clients.

The Logged-Out Couponator solves this by allowing users to access and apply coupon savings at checkout even if they are not signed into their account.

By delivering instant value immediately after installation, we demonstrate the extension’s value early on, which helps drive meaningful engagement and keeps users coming back.

Smart, conditional logic

We designed this feature to prioritize user experience. The Logged-Out Couponator uses smart logic to ensure it only interrupts the user when there is tangible value:

  • If coupons exist: Couponator opens, and the user can utilize the "1-Click Apply" flow to save money instantly.
  • If no coupons exist: Couponator does not appear; rather, users are presented with a familiar pop-up prompting them to activate for cashback and other rewards.

The Logged-Out Couponator feature is available to Wildfire’s rewards browser extensions on Desktop Chrome, Desktop Edge, and Mobile Safari.  Implementation is designed to be low-lift and turnkey for our clients.

The impact on revenue

By engaging this segment of unauthenticated users, partners can expect an estimated ~8% lift in overall commission revenue.

Attribution for transactions completed by logged-out users is handled through a dedicated static tracking code, ensuring commissions are tracked accurately and kept separate from individual user cashback rewards earnings reports.

Key Takeaways

The Logged-Out Couponator turns missed opportunities into measurable gains, ensuring our clients capture shopping trips from their full user base, not just those who have logged in.

With a low-lift implementation, Wildfire helps our clients demonstrate value to users and increase overall commission revenue. Wildfire's low-touch solution effectively helps our clients increase overall commission revenue by clearly demonstrating value to their users.

Eligible clients can work with the Client Success team to gather necessary assets, establish a deployment timeline, and access the latest version of Couponator.
