Shopping doesn't happen on a single device, or a single browser, anymore. Your customers’ browser preferences vary: some default to Chrome, others to Edge, and that split often shifts again on mobile. Layer that on top of a shopping journey that moves from a work computer, to a phone at lunch, to a personal laptop that night.
Offering your users access to rewards and savings on just one browser leaves potential revenue on the table, and leaves your users missing out on earnings.
But with a Wildfire-powered rewards program, you can meet your customers where they are.
Wildfire now supports cashback rewards across multiple shopping surfaces: desktop Chrome, desktop Edge, desktop Safari, mobile Safari on iOS, and mobile Edge.
In effect, your rewards program can follow a customer from their office computer to their phone to their home laptop, regardless of which browser or device they're using.
Why does offering your rewards program across multiple platforms and surfaces matter?
A survey of 46,000 retail shoppers found 73% of them engage across multiple channels during a single buying journey.
A program that only lives on, say, desktop Chrome misses a large share of that journey.
What's new from Wildfire: cashback rewards extensions on Edge Mobile
Edge extensions can now be built for Wildfire clients with an existing Chrome desktop extension. Or, if you are a new Wildfire client building a Chrome desktop extension, you can easily expand it to include Edge.
Since Edge runs on both desktop and mobile, one build unlocks two surfaces: Edge desktop and Edge on Android phones.
Backed by user data and trends, Wildfire estimates a mobile Edge extension would add additional revenue equal to approximately 22% of your annual Chrome desktop extension revenue.
Adding Edge unlocks an entire new mobile user base, by now providing an offering for Android users who previously could not access our clients’ rewards programs via Mobile Safari Extension (e.g. on iOS.)
Where are Wildfire’s cashback browser extensions available?
- Desktop Chrome: the original, highest-traffic surface for most programs, holding 65.47% of US desktop browser share
- Desktop Edge: growing share of enterprise and Windows users, now at 12.56% of US desktop share
- Desktop Safari: the default for Apple's ecosystem, holding 10.99% of US desktop share
- iOS Mobile: Safari extension, including in-browser alerts and an earnings dashboard, reaching a browser that controls 51.2% of mobile browsing in North America
- Edge Mobile: Although Edge's mobile browser share sits at under 0.5% today, it is largely untapped reach rather than a redistribution of existing traffic
Reward customers on mobile who use AI for shopping
Every one of these extensions also delivers a valuable feature: identifying cashback rewards opportunities in AI conversation pages.
As shoppers increasingly turn to AI chatbots for product research, Wildfire extensions detect eligible links inside conversations with ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Perplexity, and show cashback earnings opportunities directly within the chat response with a small decoration. No extra steps for the user, no extra work for our clients. Learn more here.
Help your customers earn rewards from wherever they shop
Each different surface and browser has the potential to reach a different slice of your customer base across different browsers and devices (or the same customer using multiple devices, making it more convenient for them to earn rewards wherever they are).
Layering these different surfaces together closes the gaps and gives customers more chances to earn more from your rewards program, on both mobile and desktop devices across multiple browsers.
